Redesigning a B2B banking platform
Project
Banking platform
Company
Payabl.
Duration
3 months
Team
2 designers , 1 product manager, 2 frontend developers
Payabl. is a payments institution with regional offices in Cyprus, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, and the UK. They offer banking services to merchants and businesses. Payabl.'s existing B2B banking platform was functional but not user-friendly. We proceeded to redesign it to improve the usability of their dashboard.
Scope of Work
Outcomes
100% task success rate · 40% faster transfers · 60% fewer navigation errors
Improving the IA
Based on stakeholder interviews, as well as my experience with the existing banking platform, I identified confusing navigation and unclear labels. I redesigned the IA using clear, industry-standard terminology to make the platform easier to navigate.
Wireframes & wireframes library
After defining the IA, I created wireframes to map layout, functionality, and gather early feedback. I also built a reusable wireframe library with banking components to speed up iteration and support the design team.
Proposed solutions, simplifying transfers
I redesigned the transfer flows from a cluttered single form into a guided step-by-step flow. A progress stepper and a right-side summary panel helped users stay oriented and complete transfers faster.
Learnings & results
To improve the user experience of Paybal.'s existing B2B banking platform, we redesigned it with usability in focus. We delivered the new flows in the form of wireframes as well as mid and high-fidelity prototypes.
The company intended to launch this concept to five of its merchants to test it. Shortly after delivering the designs, we were asked to extend our contract with them to continue exploring and improving their new banking platform.
